I wanted to thank you guys for making "Mutts" available
online. My son joined the Marines and during his time in basic
training at Parris Island, South Carolina this summer and fall,
I wrote to him every day. Included in each letter was a reprint
of a Mutts strip which was available to me through your website.
My hope in sending it to him was to inject a little humor into
what is an otherwise difficult, challenging, and not-so-fun-filled
day. Well, he saved all the letters, and the Mutts strips,
and when we finally got to see him again in October, he told
me that they were very much appreciated and the Mutts strips
always brightened his days when mail call came. He is now training
to be a combat engineer at Camp LeJuene, North Carolina. Our
understanding is that he will be going to Iraq in March or
April. I don't write to him every day any more, as he now has
much more freedom than he had in basic training and he also
has a cell phone, so we're able to talk every day. He and I
both really enjoy the strip. We both like a good laugh, and
Mutts has just the right combination of ingredients to cause
us to laugh hysterically sometimes,
and just as often make us stop to think of life from another angle, however quirky

said this before, and I want to say it again: it's amazing
how many times in my little time with Mutts that
your comics have kept me going through the day. I subscribe
to a terrible
paper ONLY for the sake of Mutts. I have dealt with
a family tragedy for about 10 years and every day is almost
a struggle
to get through, but your comics, and the characters always
bring a smile to my heart (and sometimes a tear to my eye).

right. And just a thought: PLEASE, PLEASE don't ever "animate" MUTTS a la 'Garfield' (blech)...let all of us have our own voices
for the characters and let us all have our own experiences
with the comics. Putting it on a Saturday morning show or
a 'Holiday Special" would ruin it. Like I said, just
